WHoooweeee! What a fun place to ride. This was my first time ever at Promise Land MX and it won't be my last. I had a ton of fun and the motocross track was in great condition. It was a good blend of challenging for talented riders while still being beginner friendly.

Weight Distribution Hitch - Needed or Not for this Setup?

Thanks for watching. I've really been on the fence about getting a WDH for my trailering setup. In this video I explain the weights and capacities working with. I'm pulling with a 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 3.0 duramax engine and the max trailering package. The Forest River Ibex toy hauler I'm pulling weighs between 5k - 7k lbs and has a tongue weight of 700 to 800 lbs depending on what I ha...

The only thing I would consider ordering different for next time is getting the "tall" seat since the soft foam compresses more tha...

Check it out! I just picked up this 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 3.0 duramax and the max trailering package or the max tow package. I'm coming from a 2023 Toyota Tundra which I traded in. Here's why I sold it and what I'll miss most about this truck.

    I want to commend you on your journey of discovery but feel it's important to point out before buying another bike to learn how to adjust it. Don't be scared to learn how to change your springs for your weight and have the bike Valved for the type of riding/skill /preference that you're doing I.e. fast hare scrambles to sprint Enduro to hard Enduro, the race manuel has good suspension guide how to adjust fork hight and most Important your race sag which you should check every race/ride. Look into getting a clutch weight plate to reduce flame out, and have fun 😅

    Wondering if you have tried figuring fuel economy on this rig? I've been coming up with 30+ mpg street/trail riding modestly. Obviously there's a lot of variables that can come into play....but commuting around town in 2wd I'm getting well over 100 miles per tank (3.7g). The few reports on RUclips and forums are little better than 20 mpg or less. My daily driver is a lifted & modified '17 Tacoma and it gets a dismal 13 mpg....so I'm glad I have an alternative 8 mos out of the year living in MT.

    • @ThomperBeThompin
      @ThomperBeThompin 10 дней назад

      I would consider two other options first depending on you and your son's riding style. First there's the Kawasaki KLX 140RF (21in front tire, 18in rear). It's got a 5 speed trans, rear disc brake, bigger tires, plus more power than the Honda, but it's still a tiny bike. The Honda CRF 250F is probably a much better bike to grow into. For the 125, you run the risk of growing out of it quickly.

    The Tundra wasn't the only Toyota product with problems in the past few years. The Camry since 2018. The third gen Tacoma. Toyota lying about crash results. It seems like Toyota is dropping the ball a lot lately. The first gen Tundra had minor problems that were cheap to fix. For the price of a engine in the new Tundra you could have bought a fully loaded first gen truck with extra bling. You could also fix the rest of them. Then there's the price.

    The 12-inch bar is useless, I put a 16-inch Oregon bar on and it's a great saw. A 5 AMP HOUR hour battery uses a full tank of bar oil. I use 30 weight motor oil, the thin oil lubricates the bar nicely. The DeWalt leaks the same amount of oil as my Husqvarna 51. Big advantage to the 16-inch bar is there's more teeth on it so stays sharper longer.
